Oh, the joys of detoxification! This is the 8th day of my raw cannabis cleanse, and I have released 5.5 lbs of inflammation, fat, and toxicity so far. I have also found myself experiencing my first healing crisis…
My goal in cleansing with raw cannabis is to develop a deeper understanding of the medicine this plant has to offer. And, the plant didn’t want to make me wait – she began displaying her healing potential in just a few days…
During the first 4 days of the detox, I did not feel the typical detoxification symptoms with their traditional intensity. I generally experience more cravings, headaches, irritability and fatigue when I first begin a cleanse. I also generally experience a bit of resistance when I begin a cleanse, but I did not feel that was a factor for me this time…
On day 5, the right side of my face felt a bit “puffy”. On day 6, I had major swelling, and it felt like someone had punched me in the face. YIKES! It appeared as if my tooth had become abscessed overnight. And, had I not known better, I would have been calling the dentist…
Instead of reaching for the phone, I went to the pantry for the coconut oil… It was time to add coconut oil pulling into my protocol.
Coconut oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic technique utilized to improve oral, and general health. Most microbes that inhabit the mouth are single-celled organisms with lipid based cell membranes. The micro-organisms are “pulled” into the fat in the oil, cleansing the mouth.
I used 1 tbsp of RAW Organic coconut oil, with one drop of oregano oil. I swished the oils in my mouth for about 20 minutes before spitting the bacteria-laden nastiness into the trash. When I woke up on day 7, my swelling had subsided by about 75%. I will continue to coconut oil pull at least twice a day for the next few weeks.
I have had some pretty incredible coconut oil pulling experiences since adventuring into the world of detoxification, and once again, I am IMPRESSED by the power of this technique. I am also EXCITED by the fact that my first healing crisis of this cleanse was so immediate, and by it’s location.
Since I had major dental work in 2011 and 2012, I haven’t been able to fully regenerate the gum tissue around one of my implants. The fact that this crisis occured, gives me hope that the lymphatic stagnation restricting the full vitality of my gum tissues may be starting to MOVE! To further assist this process, I have decided to enlist the support of living silica, and ORALIVE to my daily oil pulling.
In my evening pull, I will also be adding DEEP GREEN. Deep Green is an activated full plant cannabis extract. I have found testimonials online that full plant extracts have had some success in healing cavities. I am hoping the medicine will help me to resolve my current abcess, and perhaps assist in the regeneration of my gums… I’ll keep you posted. A future blog post will contain pictures of the area I am trying to regenerate, along with any progress I make.
If cannabis does move the lymph in the head, and specifically in tissues surrounding the teeth, this could be very exciting as I know many raw vegans, and people detoxing who have been struggling with the health of their teeth.
In an effort to power up my medicine and apply my findings, I will be combining my THCa and CBDa tinctures with herbs that support the upper body circulation, the brain, and the nervous system. Tinctures are non-activated (not pyscho-active) and will be available this weekend at the Washington Farmer’s Market.
THCa and CBDa have been shown to be anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmadic, anti-proliferative, and neuro-protective. In addition, these cannabinoids reportedly aid sleep, reduce anxiety and relieves stress. Conditions THCa and CBDa could show promise for include: ALS, autism, alzheimers, cancer, epilepsy, lupus, fibromyalgia, HIV, multiple sclerosis, parkinsons, schizophrenia, and tourettes.
